Simon Hill’s Peanut Butter Banana Oats

(Serves 1)

¾  cup/2.6 oz/75g of Rolled Oats
1 ¼ cup/10 fl oz water
½ tsp/0.1 oz cinnamon
½ banana
1 tbsp/0.6 oz peanut butter
1 tbsp/0.2 oz ground flaxseeds (also called Linseeds)
1 tsp/0.2 oz/5ml pure maple syrup drizzled on top


  1. Add oats and water to a saucepan on high heat, cover and cook until bubbling.
  2. Stir in the cinnamon and wait until the water is almost completely absorbed but still creamy.
  3. If you overcook them and they look dry, add a tbsp of water or plant-milk to make it creamier.
  4. Transfer to a bowl, and top with banana, maple syrup, peanut butter and flaxseeds.
If you prefer a cold breakfast, this recipe can easily be made overnight – just add all the oats and cinnamon to a jar, top with peanut butter and add enough water or almond milk to cover the ingredients. Add the banana once you’re ready to eat it.
